  • The Scottish deerhound is similar to the greyhound in build, but is larger. Its coat is harsh and wiry and ranges from blue-gray to yellow-brown. This breed is commonly called the "royal dog of Scotland". Though used as hunting dogs in the past, their friendly nature and gentle demeanor makes them a popular family pet choice. As puppies they have a lot of energy, while older dogs sleep much of the day.Scottish Deerhound Club of America: So, You Want to Buy a Scottish Deerhound?
