Driver Scott Speed joined NASCAR in 2008, after cutting his teeth in Formula One racing in Europe.
Scott Speed was involved in a huge 10 car crash at the 2009 Daytona 500 during lap 124. The crash was instigated by Dale Earnhardt Jr. attempting to pass Brian Vickers. When Vickers blocked Earnhardt, and attempted to move back into position, Earnhardt caught the back of Vickers and triggered a major crash.
