Brief Biography
Scott Linehan started coaching at the high school level in Portland, Oregon, in the mid-1980s. He moved on to coach at his alma-mater, the University of Idaho, and proceeded to hold a number of positions in the NCAA. His first job in the NFL was as the offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings in 2002, under Mike Tice. He got his first opportunity as head coach in 2006 with the Rams.
Linehan was fired on the morning of September 29, 2008, after an 0-4 start by his team. The Rams lost their previous day's game to the Buffalo Bills after losing a first half lead. Before attaining the head coaching position in St. Louis, Linehan was the offensive coordinator with the Miami Dolphins.
