Scot Pollard

  • Scot Pollard is a center for the Boston Celtics of the NBA. In addition to his defense, Pollard is known to experiment with various unique hairstyles.

    Pollard was drafted in 1997 by the Detroit Pistons where he played 33 games his rookie year. He was then traded to the Atlanta Hawks, but never played for them. He ended up with the Sacramento Kings] where he became an effective backup to center Vlade Divac and started at power forward when Chris Webber was injured. After being plagued by injuries himself during the 2002-03 season, Pollard was traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he contributed mostly on defense. Pollard signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006, followed by another one-year contract with the Celtics in 2007.

    Pollard became just as well known for his outgoing nature and unique hairstyles. His many hair-dos have included a mohawk, ponytails, and a bald head. His hair got him the nickname "Samurai Scot" during his days in Sacramento. He is known for joking around and has even done color commentary for NBA and WNBA games.
