Sausage balls are a common Hors D'oeuvres or snacks served at parties and gatherings as they have a quick preparation time and are easy to make. The recipe originated from Bisquick, and was printed on the back of the box.
Quick Hors D'oeuvres
Spicy:
- 1 pound ground hot sausage
- 1 pound mild sausage
- 12 ounces of sharp cheese (grated and softened)
- 12 ounces of mild cheese (grated and softened)
- 4 cups Bisquick
- 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
Mild:
- 2 pound ground pork sausage
- 4 cups biscuit baking mix
- 24 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (grated and softened)
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Roll into small balls
- Place balls on cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Insert tooth picks for easy eating
- Serve with Cheese Dip or barbecue sauce.
