Saudis Punish Gang Rape Victim

November 15, 2007: An appellate court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced a female gang rape victim to 200 lashes and 6-months in prison. The 19-year-old woman had been appealing the original sentence of 90 lashes for "being in the car of an unrelated male", but the court increased her punishment after deciding that she had attempted to use the media to manipulate the judiciary.
