Satoru Iwata is the president and CEO of gaming company Nintendo, a position he has held since May 2002. Before becoming CEO, Iwata played a key role in the development of Nintendo's GameCube gaming console and is often heavily credited with the companies success in the 21st century.
On March 25, 2009, Iwata delivered the keynote speech of the Game Developers Conference 2009 (GDC), and announced a new game in the Zelda series for the Nintendo DS series, as well as the Wii SD Card channel and the Wii Virtual Console channel.
