  • Sarongs, or pareo, are large, cotton, rectangular wraparounds traditionally tied around the body as a dress or skirt, worn by both women and men of southeast Asia, Pacific islands, and parts of Africa. Often used as a beach cover up.
  • How to Tie a Sarong for Women

    1. Wrap the sarong horizontally around the back at bust level, with the loose ends in front.
    2. Take the two top ends and twist them around each other a couple of times.
    3. Take the two top ends and tie them behind the neck.

  • How to Tie a Sarong for Men

    1. Wrap a horizontal sarong around the back at waist level taking the two upper ends in the hands.
    2. Tuck one end at the hip while pulling the sarong tightly with the other hand. Roll down where the end was tucked for more stability.
    3. Wrap and tuck the free end at the other hip and roll it down as well.
    4. Fold down the the top edge at the front once or twice to secure it.
