Sarah Silverman

Sarah Silverman is a comedian, writer and musician known for her outrageous and ironic take on the subjects of race, sex and religion. She is the creator and star of Comedy Central's The Sarah Silverman Program and concert film Jesus Is Magic.

Silverman was a cast member of Saturday Night Live, The Larry Sanders Show and Greg the Bunny. She was a featured performer on Mr. Show with Bob and David and has voiced characters on Futurama, Crank Yankers and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Silverman dated late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel from 2002 until their breakup in 2008. A 2008 guest appearance on Kimmel's show, following the Oscars, resulted in the popular viral video "I'm F*cking Matt Damon." The couple reconciled but split again in March of 2009.

On October 30, 2008, Sarah Silverman appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The two spoke with general awkwardness, given that they used to be a couple. After general introductions, Kimmel showed a video of a very young Sarah Silverman, from 1985 in Boston, Massachusetts, singing a show tunes song at an apparent talent show of sorts. Silverman's stand-up has courted controversy many times in her career. She has been publicly reproached by the Media Action Network for Asian Americans and television personality Joe Franklin, who took offense at a joke Silverman told about him in the documentary film The Aristocrats.
