Sarah Palin is an Alaskan politician who was the state's Governor from 2006 to 2009, and who ran as Republican running mate for presidential candidate John McCain in the 2009 Presidental election.

The oil painting, which is about four feet tall and portrays Palin in glasses and red stiletto heels and holding a gun while standing on a bearskin rug , is hanging in the Old Town Ale House on the North Side of Chicago. Sarah Palin Photo and Breast Implant Controversy
Palin caused a stir in the media in June, 2010 when photos were taken of her at the Belmont horse race where the former Governor appeared noticeably more buxom than she seemed in past public appearances. This fueled rumors that the TV pundit had received breast implants, allegedly as a move leading up to another run for political office.
Palin has strongly denied that she had any form of breast implants. The controversy, which has been nicknamed "Boobgate", prompted Palin to comment to Fox News:
"No, I have not had implants. ... A report like that is about as real and truthful that Todd and I are divorcing or that I bought a place in the Hamptons or that Trig is not my own child. ... White House Press Secretary Mocks Palin's Hand Notes
In this video, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs makes light of Sarah Palin's then-recent use of notes written on her hand during a speech. Gibbs had scribbled hand-written notes on his left hand, including a grocery store list and the words "hope" and "change". He laughed about the dig with reporters, as is seen here in the video.

This image is of the November, 2009 Newsweek cover that featured what some called an "alluring" image of Sarah Palin. Palin's own camp objected to the use of the photo which made her look "sexy". Oddly enough, her camp did not object outwardly to the headline or article sentiment.
