    In January 2009, after John McCain and Palin lost the election, video clips were posted online where Palin criticized the media coverage of her, including the Katie Couric interview.     In an interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired on November 16, 2009, Palin claims that she answered the question about what newspapers she reads the way she did because she was angry that Couric asked the question. "It seemed like [Couric] was discovering the nomadic tribe . . . asking me, 'How do you stay in touch with the real world?'", said Couric.
