Sarah Gronert is a tennis player from Germany who was born with both male and female genitals. Gronert, who is 22 years old, had surgery at the age of 19, that removed her male genitalia. She is medically and officially a woman. Intersexuality
Intersex is when a person is born with both male and female genitalia. According to the Intersex Society of North America, intersex children should be "assigned" a gender identity at an early age. Surgery can be performed to remove the unwanted genitalia.Intersex Society of North America: [1]
