Sandy Alomar is a former MLB player who played his last game on September 20, 2007. Alomar, Jr. is the son of Sandy Alomar, Sr. and brother of former second baseman Roberto Alomar. Alomar, Jr. is currently a catching instructor for the New York Mets.
Career
Alomar made his MLB debut on September 30, 1988 for the San Diego Padres. Alomar became an every-day catcher in 1999 when he was traded to the Cleveland Indians Alomar enjoyed tremendous success with the Indians between 1990-2000, winning the Rookie-of-the-Year award in 1989, and a Gold Glove Award that same year. Alomar was selected as an All-Star six times, all of them while playing for Cleveland. Alomar ended his career with a .274 average, 112 home runs and 588 RBIs.
