Early Years
Ozolinsh was drafted out of the Russian Super League, 30th overall in the 1991 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks. Ozolinsh made his NHL debut with the Sharks in the 1992-93 regular season. The following season he was selected for his first of seven NHL All-Star Game appearances. After three total seasons with San Jose, he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche on October 26, 1995. During his first season with the Avalanche, Ozolinsh helped the team win the 1996 Stanley Cup Championship. -
Recent Career
Ozolinsh was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on June 24, 2000. Just a season and a half later he was sent to the Florida Panthers on January 16, 2002. Shortly after the trade he represented Latvia at the 2002 Winter Olympics. The following year he was traded again, to the Anaheim Ducks on January 30, 2003. Ozolinsh played just over three seasons in Anaheim, then was traded to the New York Rangers on March 9, 2006. He entered free agency after the 2006-07 regular season, then signed with the San Jose Sharks on November 2, 2007. -
