San Juan Vacation

Guide Note:

Its name, San Juan, honors St. John the Baptist and is home to approximately 2 million people --about half of the population of Puerto Rico. The capital city was founded by the Spanish in 1521, who named it Ciudad de Puerto Rico, or City of Puerto Rico. It is the second oldest city established by Europeans in the Americas, after the Dominican Republic's Santo Domingo. Presently, San Juan serves as the country’s most important seaport and is the hub for tourism, culture, industry, and banking.
