San Francisco has started to offer free or subsidized health care to all of the city's estimated 82,000 adults without health insurance.

- The program is called Healthy San Francisco
- The city hopes to enroll 45,000 people in the first year of the program
- Until November, the program is open only to those living below the federal poverty line
- After November, enrollment is open to all those who have been uninsured for at least 90 days, regardless of income or immigration status
