San Diego State University was first established as the San Diego Normal School on March 13, 1897. The campus was located on Park Boulevard, in San Diego.The institution joined the California State College system in 1960. On May 6, 2008, Police in San Diego raided San Diego State University and arrested 96 people, 75 of them students, on drug related charges. The raid came after a five month undercover investigation. Drugs, cash and guns were recovered from sellers and buyers in the bust.-
