    San Antonio is full of tourist attractions such as The Alamo (the location of the Battle of the Alamo, in which a small number of Texan soldiers tried to defend the fort from the Mexican army), a Six Flags theme park, and SeaWorld. One of the most popular areas of the city is the River Walk, which runs along the San Antonio River and is one of the cultural centers of San Antonio, attracting tourists and residents to its live music performances, annual festivals, and countless shops and restaurants. Tourism in San Antonio is one of the biggest contributors to the city's economy.

    Some events that take place each year in San Antonio include Shakespeare in the Park, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, a 10 day festival called "Fiesta," and their New Year's Eve "Celebrate San Antonio" event.

    San Antonio's only top-level pro sports team, the San Antonio Spurs, won the NBA championship in 2007, 2005, 2003, and 1999.
