Samsung FlipShot

The Samsung FlipShot is a cell phone with a unique swiveling three megapixel camera. It is given away free with select Verizon calling plans. It has Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Its battery gets 4 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby time. It has TV output and it plays music. This phone first came to stores in November of 2007.

The main draw to the FlipShot is the three megapixel camera that swivels a full 180 degrees. The rotated face can then fold down again, just like closing the phone's clamshell structure as normal. CNET reports excellent photo quality and an impressive speakerphone. Users at Phone Arena report poor reception with the FlipShot as well as slow shutter speed with the camera, but they do like the many photo editing features.

The editor at Mobiledia says:

This phone's ringer is not loud enough, not even on the loudest setting. To switch from ringer only to add vibrate you have to go through the menus and this is tedious. Smudges easily get onto the front cover. Games are limited for this phone. The games that are available display too small. The menu navigation controls are awkward.
