  • The Charlotte Bobcats have fired coach Sam Vincent. Vincent coached one year for the Bobcats. The Bobcats announced earlier on Saturday, April 26th. They were hoping to make the playoffs for the first time, but failed after going 32-50.
  • Previous Coaching

    The 2008 season was the first time that Vincent had been a head coach and had been in the league for only one year before being offered a job as the head coach by Michael Jordan. Previously he served as a coach for the Fort Worth Flyers during the 2005-2006 season.
  • Basketball Career

    Sam Vincent attended Michigan State University and played there as a point guard. He was later drafted by the Boston Celtics and played for them for two seasons and played in the NBA Championship. Vincent was then traded to several teams, which include Seattle SuperSonics and Chicago Bulls. In 1989, he was drafted by the Orlando Magic in the expansion draft and later finished his playing career with the Magic.
