Her win of America's Next Top Model has been questioned as the rules of the television show state that the entrants "must not have appeared as a model in a national advertising campaign during the last five years." The performance in question was a commercial for Wendy's hamburgers. The producers of the show believed that it was not modeling under contract, and would not exclude her from appearing on the show. Stowers also went to T-Zone, the teen camp founded by Tyra Banks and had an appearance on The Tyra Banks Show as a model before she was cast on the show.
