Notoriety
- As you commit crimes, your notoriety with the police will build (represented by the blue meter). When it reaches a certain point, your notoriety will increase one level, and the police will begin to attack you. The attacks get stronger and stronger at each level.
- You can also gain notoriety with local gangs, by fighting and killing them. As with the police, the higher the level, the more aggressive they get.
- If you avoid conflict with police/gangs, notoriety with each party will decrease over time, returning things to normal.
- There are drive-thru locations around the map called "Forgive and Forget". These will wipe clean all your notoriety instantly when you use them.
-
Respect/Style
- Respect is gained after completing objectives or performing certain actions. The higher your respect, the more missions you can access. You will need certain levels of respect just to complete the core campaign, let alone access all of the game's content.
- Your style determines how much added respect you gain whenever it is earned. You can increase style by spending money on items such as apparel, music tracks, vehicles, crib upgrades, etc.
-
Missions/Strongholds
- The core campaign are the missions. You need to increase your respect to access all the missions in the game to complete the main story.
- Completing missions will also grant you unlockables and at times allow you to capture the neighborhood for your own gang. When you capture a neighborhood, it will be populated by your gang members and you will earn money daily from the neighborhood. You can also buy any stores in your neighborhoods to increase your daily collections (travel to the store and enter the marker to purchase it).
- Strongholds will appear on the map after beating some missions. They allow you to play more difficult bonus missions. Beating them grants more neighborhoods.
- Sometimes a neighborhood will be hit with "pushback". If that happens, you have to travel to the neighborhood to kill the targeted gang members to re-capture it. Until this is done, you can't make any money from the neighborhood.
-
Cribs
- Cribs are located throughout the map and can be purchased for you to use.
- You can upgrade your crib interiors by standing on the chair icon inside your crib. Doing so will increase your style.
- You can change your character's appearance by standing on the clothes hanger icon inside your crib, and using the menus to change clothes, tattoos, outfits, etc. You can access your entire collection at once from any crib.
- You can re-play missions you've already beaten by standing on the newspaper icon.
- You can play the mini-game Zombie Uprising, or watch the game's cinematics, by standing on the TV icon.
- You can collect money accrued from your neighborhoods by standing on the vault icon.
- You can access your crib weapon cache inside the crib by standing on the appropriate icon. Every weapon you collect in the game is automatically and permanently added to the weapon cache whenever you revisit it (you must visit the cache to add it to your weapon choices)
- You can store all your vehicles in any crib's garage to access at any time. Stand on the car key icon and use "Retrieve Vehicle" to fetch your vehicle. If your vehicle is destroyed, you can simply retrieve it again from your garage with no loss or penalty. If you wish to remove a vehicle from your garage list, choose "Remove Vehicle From Garage".
- Note that all cribs share the same lists for garages, cache, vault money, etc.
- Your cribs will be populated by homies that you can recruit to follow you.
- Some cribs function only as nautical docks you can use to store your watercraft. Some cribs come with a helipad you can use to store helicopters, and there is one at Wardill Airport where you can store planes.
- Hideouts are a special version of the crib that allow you to customize your gang appearance through the appropiate icon (such as dress, gang cars, etc.). As you play through the main campaign, you can unlock more different customization options.
-
Food/Drink
- Food can be bought from any restaurant, while 40's and blunts can be bought from liquor stores and gas stations.
- Food restores your health in varying degrees when used. Save your food for when you need to heal quickly.
- 40's and blunts cause inebriated effects to your character; in terms of gameplay they are only needed to achieve certain mission objectives.
-
Dealerships/Mechanics
- You can buy vehicles from any dealership, thought they are expensive.
- You can mod your vehicles at any mechanic. They can add various upgrades such as armor, nitrous, even spiked rims. They can also make cosmetic changes to your vehicle. If a vehicle is destroyed, they can re-mod the vehicle as before for a price.
- If your vehicle is a large one, such as a fire truck, it can only be modded at the mechanics named "Semi-Broken".
-
Homies
- You can recruit any "homies" (fellow gang members) wandering around the city by pressing Up on the D-pad in their presence. They will follow you around (even taking their own car if need be) and protect you from enemies.
- You must unlock the ability to recruit homies, and after which you must unlock the ability to recruit more than one at once. The abilities are unlocked during the core campaign. The maximum homies you can have following you are three.
- You can call special homies on your cell phone if you unlock the ability to do so. They will arrive to the scene in their own car and behave like a regular homie. These special homies do not have any uniqueness from regular homies, but do arrive in vehicles that are sometimes handy.
- If any homie is killed, you can revive them by standing over their body and pressing Y. Homies will die permanently if you do not revive them in 30 seconds of their death. If a special homie dies, you can still call them again later and they will return as if nothing happened.

- One is at a Brotherhood meeting and will attempt to escape in a jeep over a stunt ramp, while his goons help him. If he jumps, follow him asap. Otherwise, cut him off and shoot him.
- One is with a crew harassing a shopkeeper. Make sure the shopkeeper survives.
- One is riding in a heavy duty truck, dropping firebombs in his wake. Drive out to his sides and snipe the driver, while obviously staying away from his rear.
- If you win, you will capture Encanto.
-
Jail Bait
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 28 - Jail Bait (Time: 6:42)
- Drive to the targets. You must blow up the prison buses before they make it to their destination. You'll be fighting cops and Brotherhood. If you lose your initial car, swipe a Brotherhood truck.
- Afterward, head to either one of the blue markers: one has a boat to use, the other an attack chopper. The boat will most likely be the closer one. Use whichever vehicle you prefer to sink the boats from.
- If you win, you will capture Huntersfield.
-
Enemy Of My Enemy
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 35 - The Enemy Of My Enemy (1/2) (Time: 10:59)
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 35 - The Enemy Of My Enemy (Time: 7:10)
- Drive to the marker and take the heli. Use it to reach the boat. Ultor goons will shoot rockets at your craft, so bailout and use your parachute when prompted to survive. Once you're aboard, kill all the Ultor targets.
- A cutscene will play, and you will now need to destroy the Brotherhood choppers and the goons they are dropping off. There are a TON of choppers and bad guys, but you will have tons of rocket launcher ammo and other weapons to work with.
- If you win, you will capture Fox Drive.
-
The Seige
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 36 - The Seige (Time: 10:59)
- Bring homies with you and drive to the marker. Kill all the Brotherhood targets. If you see rocket fire, immediately track it down and kill the goon firing them.
- After all the targets are dead, follow the markers through the warehouse to Maero's location. You'll have homies most of the way to help you.
- When you reach Maero, you'll have to fight him as a boss. He uses a mini-gun and will throw satchel charges if you get too close. The AC units provide limited cover as they can break, but he himself is a sitting duck. Destroy him your own explosives, preferably the Annihilator, or if not, use strong firearms like the .44 cal or sniper rifle, shooting his head.
- If you win, you will capture Stoughton and unlock the mini-gun for your crib weapon cache.
-
Showdown
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 37 - Showdown (Time: 2:58)
- This will not be dificult. Grab the rocket launcher on the ground and use it to pound Maero and his crew. If you have limited rockets, save one of them to bomb a heavy duty truck, killing the henchmen and freeing it up for you to use. Keep hammering Maero's vehicle till he's done.
- If you win, you will capture Little Shanghai, and unlock Maero's Truck, Brotherhood Gang vehicles, Brotherhood Personalities, and Pierce as a homie you can call.
-
Brotherhood Strongholds
- Sommerset: Go to each of the markers on the map and capture the apartments by killing all the targets. Be VERY careful when exiting an apartment as rocket launching goons may try to bushwhack you. The last target is a mobile home that you can bomb with a stolen rocket launcher. If you win, you capture Sommerset.
- Imperial Square: Drive to each of the markers and trash the furniture in the area. A shopkeeper will appear; beat up the shopkeeper with your fists until he/she relents. Do NOT kill any shopkeepers. The final marker has a hotel owner win a gun; you cannot kill him either, so take cover, kill his backup, then beat him up when he comes to your cover spot. If you win, you capture Imperial Square
- Poseidon Alley: Jack the Compensator truck from the Brotherhood and pursue the other truck. Do not disable or destroy either trucks; the Compensator can withstand a load of damage and the police should go after your target instead. Once you reach the destination, kill all the targets; watch out for explosive barrels. If you win, you wil capture Poseidon Alley.
- Wardill Airport: It is highly advisable that you bring explosives and homies with you for this one. Enter the hanger and go to the blue marker. You must then defend it from the Brotherhood for about a minute. Next, sprint outside and destroy the Compensator trucks, then destroy the planes before they fly off. Rockets, the AR-50 XMAC Special with grenades, and homies will help; if you do not have explosives, use a shotgun, preferably one of the automatic ones.
-
Picking a Fight
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 38 - Picking A Fight (Time: 8:07)
- After the cutscene, battle your way to an exit from the club. Outside grab a car and drive to the next marker.
- At the next marker, kill all the Ultor targets quickly before Pierce's health goes out. Get in an APC and charge to the next marker.
- Shaundi is in the van you must persue. Simply shoot the van until it runs out of "health". Don't shoot it with explosives or let the cops or homies accidentally destroy it and you'll be fine.
-
Pyramid Scheme
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 39 - Pyramid Scheme (Time: 10:01)
- Drive to the marker to get into Ultor's district. Commit enough crimes there to get the notoriety level to four stars. When it's at four stars, drive to the nearest Forgive and Forget (set a waypoint on your map) and use it.
- Afterward, drive to the marker and dive into the canal to swim to another marker. Follow the tunnels to rendezvous with Gat.
- Explore the R&D base, following the marker trail. It will lead you to a break room with a key near a coffee marker. Don't let Gat get killed. Take the key.
- Search for the next few blue markers and plant bombs on them with Y. The Ultor security forces will start to get serious now. After planting all the bombs, escape quickly.
- After the cutscene, you'll see an Ultor Bear in plain sight. Jack it and follow the tunnel out. You will automatically get a Stunt Jump when you escape.
- If you win, you will unlock the Ultor APC for your garage and the Pimp Cane for your weapons cache.
-
Salting The Earth...Again
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 40 - Salting The Earth...Again (Time: 6:33)
- Drive to the marker and use the jetski to head to the next marker, a yacht. On the way you will be harassed by an attack heli.
- Hurry to the yacht and kill off all the Ultor Execs (targets). Get rid of the attack chopper if it's still after you. When they are all dead, run to the blue marker.
- You must now blow up the last exec's boat before he escapes. Do so.
-
...And A Better Life
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 41 - ...And A Better Life (Time: 8:48)
- Hop into the nearest car and chase after Vogel's armored limo before he escapes. Shoot it until it's disabled.
- The limo will flee to the main Ultor buildling; follow it there. After the cutscene, capture the Ultor helicopter.
- Inside the heli, shoot the four power stations that are located along the Ultor building; get rid of any enemy helis with missiles. When all the power stations are destroyed, fly to the roof.
- Inside the building, kill Vogel. He is a very weak boss, just shoot him, getting rid of any henchmen he has first.
-
Stronghold
- Rounds Square Shopping Center: The marker is inside the big mall at Nob Hill. To begin, seek out and kill all the Ultor targets. There are plenty of vehicles around the mall to use if you did not bring one in via the parking garage. Once that's done, go to the bottom floor where the marker is and enter the meeting rooms to kill off all those Ultor targets inside. Afterward, make your way back to the marker; there are going to be a lot of Ultor firepower on the way out, including rockets, barricades, and even Ultor APCs. If you win, you will capture the Rounds Square Shopping Center.
-
How To Unlock
- This can be unlocked at any time after completing the very first mission "Jailbreak". Go to police station in Harrowgate. This is the same station you and Shaundi broke into in the mission "Assault On Precinct 31".
- From the control room Shaundi was hacking inside, go down the stairs into the nearby office and press Y on each of the Saints symbols hidden amongst the cubicles to hear three conversations.
- Afterward, explore this office for a head office room that contains another Saints symbol. This symbol unlocks a contact named "Dex" in the phone book of your cell phone. Call the contact to unlock the Ultor mission marker.
-
Revelations
- GameAnyone: Saints Row 2 - 42 - Revelation (Time: 10:16)
- Kill the five Ultor Masako targets. Another four targets will attack, then five more. You cannot leave the church nor let your Homie die.
- When your Homie askes you too, help him defend a side of the church. Stay with him and help him off Masako. You can use the Ultor Bears to help bring in some firepower.
- An attack chopper will appear. Shoot it down, using a Bear if you are desperate. After downing it, get to the blue marker.
- You will begin a Drug Trafficking-style mini-game, with Julius driving and yourself equipped with an Annihilator. Nuke anything that comes towards the car.
- Your Homie will eventually stop at the museum amphitheater. You will need to destroy two choppers to end the mission.
- If you win, you will get the "Vengeance" achievement and a special car unlocked for your crib garage.
-
Racing
- These racing events are located throughout Stilwater, in their respective hoods. They are either a formal race against competitors or a checkpoint hunt. You do not have to get a single gold metal in any race to get the unlockables. Merely getting a bronze is enough. This guide assumes the player is trying to get golds for all races.
- Completing all the Helicopter Races unlocks the Race Heli for your crib garage.
- Completing all the Boat Races unlocks the Race Boat for your crib docks.
- Completing all the Motorcycle Races unlocks the Race Motorcyle for your crib garage.
- Completing all the Plane Races unlocks the Race Plane for your crib garage.
- Completing all the Car Races unlocks the Race Car for your crib garage.
- Completing all the Races unlocks the Cowboy Hat for your crib wardrobe and the "2 Quick 2 Pissed" achievement.
- Prawn Court: 13 checkpoints in a minute and a half in a car of your choice. Fortunately the last few checkpoints are grouped tightly together. Use a car with excellent steering.
- Pleasant View: 15 checkpoints in 2 minutes using a plane. You will want to avoid doing this one at night. Let off the gas a bit after collecting the 4th and 13th checkpoints, as taking the next checkpoint at full speed can cause trouble.
- Sunsinger: You will ride a bike through a dirt track course. The controls are fairly poor and the small rocks on the side of the road will easily crash your bike. Stay on the track at all costs. After the 10th checkpoint you will encounter some wood barriers and logs. The bike will NOT crash (inexplicably), so drive through. At the 11th checkpoint, go left down the track instead of towards the jump over the lake it is pointing at; the jump is difficult to make and not worth it.
- Brighton: You ride in a heli through the skyscrapers for 11 checkpoints. The main thing is the heli controls. The heli is going to go in whatever direction the left analog is held, respective to the current camera angle. Keep this in mind and make sure to use LB/RB to quick turn and the right analog to keep adjusting the camera towards the next checkpoint.
- Union Square: You'll be racing against some very fast autos, so bring a fast one of your own. If you can, clip the side-rear of the autos so they spin out. There's no traffic, so feel free to drive fast and hard.
- Stilwater Boardwalk: This a short bike race. Get an early lead by heading straight down the hill at the start, then use careful powerbraking turns to win.
- Stilwater Boardwalk: This race sees you using a bulldozer. The bulldozer can normally plow everything out of the way, but since you never know with these physics, make sure to drive through the things in your way only when there is no other route that isn't as quick. Also, turn immediately into the parking garage after the 4th checkpoint and follow it out to the 5th.
- Harrowgate: One minute, 40 seconds to get 25 checkpoints on a jetski. You will need to be VERY fast, and use the "handbrakes" on the jetski in combination with releasing the gas to make the very tight turns after each checkpoint.
- Athos Bay: This is extremely difficult. You must use the heli to get some very badly placed check points. You cannot make a single error that delays the heli for even a second. You want to set up a RB-powered turn after the second checkpoint while rising at the same time so that you grab the third and the fourth checkpoints without slowing down. Fly under the overpasses to get the last two checkpoints.
- Mission Beach: Another race with fast autos. These autos tend to crash quite a bit, so stick with it to the end and they will most likely take themselves out. At the start, try shoving them into the walls of the tunnel, and overtake them while they drive lazily around the round island.
- Black Bottom: 22 checkpoints in 2:30. Use the nearby Miami speed boat. Although hard to handle, its phenomenal speed and acceleration will help greatly, particularly in the big "straight" this course has.
- Fox Drive: Jetski checkpoint race in the Stilwater Cavern. Very brief and easy, just move fast and do not fret too much about the jetski taking damage.
- Elysian Fields #1: A fast race through the dirt roads. Try to knock the 4th place racer into the trees on the right at the start. The computer has severe difficulty making the turn with the 3rd checkpoint, so take advantage of that. Once you get in first, drive carefully to the finish. If you still have trouble, use a fast car with superb handling like the Bezier.
- Elysian Fields #2: Dirt road race on motorbikes. The computers are not too skillful although they will try often to crash you. Move at top speed and use light touches on the handbrakes and gas to make the turns quickly. Take shortcuts when you can.
- Stilwater Penitentiary #1: This race will start you in a tight race with a Miami boat. The checkpoints are strewn along the coast of the island, requiring you drive under precipies and around rocks. If the Miami boat is too difficult to handle, try bringing a jetski.
- Stilwater Penitentiary #2: This race has a handful of checkpoints to grab in less then 40 seconds. The layout is similar to the other race at the prison, except you start with a jetski. Do not worry too much about the jetski taking damage.
- Amberbrook #1: If you do not bring your own car, you will be saddled with an inferior Go!. Even still, if you take shortcuts on the turns and drive fairly well, you'll easily win.
- Amberbrook #2: Collect 20 checkpoints in 2:20 on a very fast bike. As long as you do not get reckless with the bike, and are careful when you short cut corners, it will be easy. The last five checkpoints are all within short distance of each other.
- Centennial Beach: This a fairly standard checkpoint fetch with a Miami boat. The only difference is a mean checkpoint that will force you to make an abrupt 180 turn; prepare for it. Move at top speed during the long straight and for the goal, aim towards the left-most dock.
- Humbolt Park: The easiest of the helicopter races. The heli you use has quite good speed and handling. Just make sure not to make too many mistakes turning and watch the map HUD to see whether or not you should rise or descend for the next checkpoint.
- Misty Lane: This course is rife with short cuts. Bring a fast car and you are sure to win.
- Stilwater Nuclear #1: A simple jetski race. This one is easy so long as you do not lose too much time in the tunnel at the start.
- Stilwater Nuclear #2: If you bring a superior auto, the computers won't stand a chance. Even without one, the computers will frequently get in each other's way.
- Huntersfield: An easy bike race. Just watch for the blind left turn after crossing through the first security gate; there's a trailer back there that can wipe you out.
- Wardill Airport #1: A difficult checkpoint race in a sports car. Slow down when you enter the parking garage, and use the handbrake to charge up to the top level smoothly. At the top, hit the ramp at an angle so that you land on the bridge below. At the 16th checkpoint, immediately point your car so that your pointer on the map HUD lines up with the checkpoint symbol. Then gun it; hopefully, you will snag the 17th checkpoint in mid-air, and land somewhere near the goal.
- Wardill Airport #2: A simple checkpoint race using the Bezier, arguably one of the best cars in the game. Just make sure not to crash into a trailer as you may get thrown out.
- Wardill Airport #3: You are randomly given either a Cessna or a biplane. This is standard flying until after you grab the checkpoints in the city. For the checkpoint under the freeway overpass, come at it from an angle and slow down a bit, so that you can fly over the freeway ramp past it, then bank to the left to get the next checkpoint. After grabbing it, move as fast as you can to get the rest of the checkpoints.
-
Demolition Derby
- This is located in the main building inside Frat Row. You select a car of your choice to compete in the derby. To win a derby, you need simply earn enough cash per threshold by doing enough damage to cars (destroying a car completely gives you an added bonus).
- Winning derbies gives you points to buy upgrades for your vehicle with. You can allocate your points to each factor of offense, defense, and speed. Use "Reset Upgrades" to re-use all your accumulated points.
- The key is to upgrade offense first, then speed, then defense. The Ruckus is a good car to use generally; it has a good mix of speed and cornering. In the derbies, use nitrous (click on the left analog) to ram the enemy cars. The goal is to do as much damage as possible, rather than destroy cars, so target a lone car and keep wailing on it till its destroyed then move on.
- You will get a 5% discount at mechanic shops for completing Level 3 of the Demolition Derby, upgraded to 15% at Level 6. You will also unlock all the Demo Derby vehicles to use at any time (access them at the crib garages). You will also unlock the "Demolition Man" achievement.
- Beating the Demolition Derby also opens a bonus derby right next to it. However, this derby gives only cash and no respect nor any other unlockables.
-
Mayhem
- There are two locations: one in Bavogian Plaza and one in Stilwater Nuclear. Note that the Stilwater Nuclear Mayhem marker may sometimes relocate to Sommerset after you play it.
- You have infinite ammo of several weapons. The goal is to destroy enough humans and destructible objects in a specific area marked on the map to clear a money threshold; there are six levels total for each Mayhem. Drive to each area to begin.
- Destroying things builds up the combo meter; while the combo meter is raised, destroying more things increases the combo meter's level and increases the rewards for destruction. You will also get a random bonus for destroy a specific type of vehicle. The most important weapons to use are the rocket launcher and the satchel bombs.
- The most lucrative targets are fences and trash piles; you can blast apart the sections of the fences and trash using your satchel charges or rocket launcher for big combo bonuses. Watch out for cops and FBI. On foot, they will either trail you ineffectively or try to run you down. Ignore the former and keep an eye out for the later. Kill gangs on site as they provide big rewards and are dangerous if left alone.
- Your reward for completing Level 3 at Prawn Court is a 5% discount on all items related to upgrading your crib, and for Level 6 a 15% discount.
- Your reward for beating Level 3 of the Stilwater Nuclear Mayhem activity is the flamethrower, unlocked for your crib. Beating Level 6 unlocks the Annihilator RPG.
- Beat all the Mayhem missions to unlock the "Wrecking Crew" achievement.
-
Fight Club
- This is located outside the Ultor Dome and inside Stilwater Penitentiary. The goal is to win 6 rounds against ever increasing groups of fighters. When a fighter is near death and is knocked to the ground, you can execute him by pressing Y, then mashing the button the quick-time event tells you to mash. Conversely, enemies can execute you as well; you can resist them in the same manner. You can only grab enemies with LB when they are near death; use grabs to knock down fighters that are almost dead for a quick kill.
- Periodically, objects such as cinderblocks, 2x4s, trash cans, etc. will be tossed into the arena. Grab these IMMEDIATELY and bash the enemies until the object breaks. You do not want the enemies to grab one of them; if they do, walk into range, bait them into an attack, get out of the way, then grab them to force them to drop the item. A good tactic is to take a strong throwing weapon such as a TV or cinderblock, back up, and throw the item so that it bowls over multiple fighters with big damage to all of them.
- Food items will be tossed repeatedly into the arena. Grab them to replenish your health. You can save extra food for future rounds.
- For the Ultor Dome Fight Club, you will win a 15% increase in damage done by your melee attacks for beating Level 3, then a 30% increase if you beat Level 6.
- For the Stilwater Penitentiary Fight Club, beat Level 3 to unlock Legal Lee as a Homie, and beat Level 6 to unlock Troy as a Homie.
- Beating all the Fight Club missions unlock the "Do Not Talk About It" achievement.
-
Septic Avenger
- There are two locations: one in Rebadeaux and one in New Hennequet.
- You will ride in a septic truck squirting waste on targets until they are defeated. Your goal is to earn enough points to beat the threshold for the level. They will be either buildings, human targets, or vehicles. You cannot control the truck itself save for making it stop and go with the brakes. Make sure the truck is stopped until you eliminate the targets
- For buildings, you want to spread the waste all over it as much as possible to eliminate its "health". Concentrating all the waste on one spot will do minimal or even no damage, so be sure to spread it all over the building. For vehicles and humans, just soak them with waste until you get points.
- As you travel about, cops will constantly attack. Soak their cars before the cops can get out; the police will flee without disembarking. Otherwise, you will quickly have to soak cops on foot to keep them from destroying the truck. The gangs will actually be of help, fighting off cops for you. Just make sure not to provoke them unless they are Saints.
- You will get a 5% discount on all purchased food and liquor for completing Level 3 at Rebadeaux, and 15% for completing Level 6.
- You will get a 5% increase in weapons accuracy for completing Level 3 at New Hennequet, and a 15% increase for completing Level 6.
- Beat all the Septic Avenger missions to unlock the Septic Truck for your crib garage and the "Splatster Chief" achievement.
-
Trailblazing
- There are two locations for this: one in Sommerset and one in Adept Way.
- This plays similar to any regular race: collect all the checkpoints in order, in time. However, you wear a flameproof suit and ride a burning ATV. Your character is invincible, and any human you touch will burn and any car explode. You must ram as many humans and cars as possible on the way to each checkpoint, as each victim will grant you extra seconds on the clock when you reach the checkpoint. Without destroying cars/humans you will likely not reach the next checkpoint, let alone finish.
- Watch for fuel cans and gas trails you can drive through to explode and take down many targets at once. These will be vital to beat the later levels.
- For completing Level 3 and 6 of the Sommerset Trailblazing activity, you get the bonus of having Brotherhood Notoriety decrease faster than normal.
- For completing Level 3 of the Adept Way Trailblazing activity, you receive a 5% decrease in damage from explosions, upgrade to 15% at Level 6.
- For beating all the Trailblazing missions, you will unlock the fire fighter suit.
-
Escort
- There are two locations for this: one in Frat Row and one in Rebeaduex.
- The goal is to first pick up the client, then drive around avoiding news vans while the pleasure meter rises. Shooting, killing, and crashes hurt the pleasure meter, particularly shooting. If you are too close to the news vans, your footage meter will rise; if it fills completely, you lose.
- The biggest problem are the news vans. Drive into oncoming traffic to shake them. If they block a street, drive through the gaps without stopping, or turn around if you can. Driving through news blockades is a good way to shake persistent tails. If you can't shake a persistent one chasing you, swerve into oncoming traffic to get him to crash. If you are a good shot, you can hit cruise control and headshot the driver; although this hurts your pleasure meter, this can save you from a lot of footage build-up if there is no traffic to help you lose him.
- Sometimes the client will randomly request an extra objective, and you must fufill it to keep the pleasure meter growing. They are listed below.
- "Evade": A private investigator, IRS agent, or spouse will sometimes chase you aggressively, racking up footage. Evade the pursuer, or try shooting the driver.
- "Car Damage": Cause 1000 points of damage to cars using your vehicle. Rear end cars as you pass them (do not hit oncoming traffic head on; if you are a skilled driver, try sideswiping them). If you see a news van blockade, ram the vans as you barrel through. Guns will NOT work, actually lowering your pleasure meter instead.
- "Kill the target": Simply find the target (red square on your HUD) and run it over.
- "Driving skills": The client will request that you either perform a two-star near miss (drive through a pair of oncoming cars), or a two-star powerbrake turn (just take a corner using the powerbrake at a good speed).
- "Go fast": You must drive at top speed for a certain amount of seconds.
- "Destination": The client requests you drive to a specific location. This can be very difficult at later levels but gives you a big bonus and will shake all your news van tails if you succeed. Make sure to stay off the main roads to avoid news van blockades.
- For completing Level 3 and 6 of the Frat Row Escort activity, you get the bonus of having Sons of Samedi Notoriety decrease faster than normal.
- For completing Level 3 of the Rebeaduex Escort activity, you get Vehicle Delivery for $1000 (use your cell phone to have the vehicles from your crib garage list delivered straight to your location). If you beat Level 6, this service is free. This is extremely handy.
- Beating all the Escort missions unlocks two Escort vehicle variants in your crib garage.
-
FUZZ
- There are two locations for this: one in Shivington and another in Quinbecca.
- The goal is to escort your cameraman around to the next location on the map and kill the target(s). At times the cameraman will request you use a special weapon such as a bat or chainsaw, or a certain gun; do so for extra "footage". If you fill the "footage meter" before time runs out, you will win the level.
- Since you are a "cop", you do not need to worry about cop notoriety, even if you kill other cops. In fact, they will often follow you and help. However, make sure to revive the cameraman if he is downed. If you lose your squad car, you'll have to start jacking vehicles to continue.
- If the perp is someone riding in a vehicle, shoot the driver, or just jack him out of the vehicle if its a septic truck. Later levels will have perps armed with more dangerous weaponry, like flamethrowers, rocket launchers, as well as having you fight helicopters, APCs, and trailblazer ATVs. Check your inventory for any new firepower to use before taking on the situation and do not hesitate to use the big guns (unless the cameraman requests you use a specific weapon).
- Beating Level 3 of the Shivington FUZZ unlocks the Kobra pistol in your crib weapon cache. Beating Level 6 unlocks unlimited pistol ammo.
- Beating Level 3 and 6 of the Quinbecca FUZZ will increase the rate at which your police notoriety drops.
- Beating all the FUZZ missions unlocks the "Reality Star" achievement.
-
Crowd Control
- There are two locations for this, one in Stilwater Boardwalk and one in Tidal Spring.
- The goal is to dispose of the "crazed fans" assaulting the celeb in waves. You can beat them up for some points, but the key is to grab thecrazed fans and toss them into the objects marked with a blue arrow (usually a vehicle or some sort of death trap) for a big bonus. Don't forget that you can sprint while holding a victim. If the crazed fans reach the celeb, the "annoyance meter" rises; filling it means game over. It's also game over if you do not earn enough points by disposing of fans before time runs out.
- Later levels become too hectic to win by just throwing crazed fans. They swarm the celeb in mobs and when time is close to expiring, will start using guns. Grab a bat from one of the fans and immediately bash away any groups that are surrounding the celeb. When there's only one or two fans around, throw them into the bonus markers; revert to the bat if things get hectic again.
- Completing Level 3 and 6 of the Stilwater Boardwalk Crowd Control activity gives you Pepper Spray and Chainsaw, respectively, to be unlocked for your crib weapon cache.
- Completing Level 3 of the Tidal Spring Crowd Control activity gives you a 5% discount at all clothing stores, upgraded to 15% at Level 6.
- Completing all the Crowd Control missions unlocks the "Velvet Rope" achievement.
-
Snatch
- There are two locations for this: one in Brighton and one in Little Shanghai.
- The goal is to drive to the hos marked on the map and ferry them back to the starting point. The pimps and gang members will try to retaliate when you do, with ever increasing resistance with each level. You will start each new level with the same vehicle you used to complete the last one; it will be fully repaired and healed.
- You can press Up on the D-pad to get the hos to follow you; you can do this on foot or in a vehicle, as long as you are in range. They will enter cars automatically or even drive their own car if there is an abandoned one.
- Make sure to kill all the pimps guarding the hos before leaving, or they may steal them back. Sometimes the hos will be riding inside a vehicle such as a limo that you will need to disable.
- Hos can usually be revived if they are killed, thought there is a time limit to do so. If a ho dies, or if you run out of time, it's game over.
- The easiest method by far to win is to simply use a Bear. The Bear is an extremely durable APC with a mounted machine gun and can house three passengers. You can acquire one at any time by getting 4 police stars in the Saints Row district and stealing it from any police barricade. When the mission starts, call Vehicle Delivery and have them send you a Bear. The gangs will have an extremely difficult time dealing with such firepower; just make sure to avoid carelessly provoking the cops. Remember also that the Bear is a somewhat slow and cumbersome vehicle.
- If you beat Level 3 of the Brighton Snatch activity, you will unlock the Gal 43 submachine gun for your crib weapons cache. If you beat Level 6, you will unlock infinite submachine ammo for all your weapons.
- If you beat Level 3 of the Little Shanghai Snatch activity, you will double your health regeneration speed. If you beat Level 6, your health regeneration speed will now be tripled.
- Beat all the Snatch missions to unlock the "...But It Sure Is Fun" achievement.
-
Drug Trafficking
- There are two locations for this: one in Stilwater Boardwalk and one in Wardill Airport.
- You will ride as a passenger with your Homie driving. Get out your guns and shoot from the car at any pursuing gangs. Your ammo is limited save for your pistol.
- When your Homie comes to a stop, get out and either protect the Homie while a deal is made or protect from ambushes. If the Homie dies, revive him/her asap.
- Sometimes your Homie will get your vehicle stuck. If this happens, jack another one for the both of you to use. Abandon your car asap if its on fire.
- Later levels can get very hectic. Do NOT hesitate to use the rocket launcher to clear out the zillions of gang members. Also, your Homie can take a lot of punishment, and can be revived anyway, so retreat and regroup if you are close to death.
- If you are still having trouble, acquire a Bear before starting this activity, mod it with armor, and summon it via Vehicle Delivery right at the start (remember, to get a Bear, steal it from the police blockades at 4 stars notoriety or higher). Against such firepower, the gangs won't stand a chance.
- For beating Level 3 and 6 of the Stilwater Boardwalk mission, you will have your Ronin Notoriety reduce faster.
- For beating Level 3 of the Wardill Airport mission, you will get the XS-2 Ultimax. Beat Level 6 for unlimited shotgun ammo.
- Beat all the Drug Trafficking missions to unlock the "Purple Haze" achievement.
-
Insurance Fraud
- There are two locations for this: one in The Mills and another in Amberbrook.
- The activity is very unique. You do not have any weapons; instead, pressing the RT or LT on foot cause your character to "dive" (fall to the ground). If your character is injured during a dive (run over, blown up, etc.) you will earn points. You will also gain points for bailing out of vehicles, although diving is usually your best bet. The goal is to beat the threshold before time runs out.
- Your character cannot be injured by damage resulting from bailouts or dives. He/she CAN be otherwise killed in any other circumstance, so be careful. Also, make sure not to dive or bailout too late, as points are gained only when your character is in the middle of a dive/bailout.
- Each round has a special location that doubles your point gains. Make sure to always head over to it before you begin.
- Your character's "adrenaline meter" fills as he takes damage from dives/bailouts. When it's full, your character will be GREATLY affected by impacts; for example, a car hit will send your character soaring for big points. You can also now control your character's flight path from impacts using the left analog. Try to guide your character into more hazards (like other cars) for even bigger points.
- The key is to build up adrenaline quickly, then when it's full, get yourself launched by cars high into the air. As you come back down, bounce your character onto as many different cars as possible for big combo points. Your character is most likely launched if the left analog is prone when he/she is hit during a dive. A good tactic is to park a large vehicle like a fire truck or diesel rig in the intersection; cars will often choke up and start thrashing about stuck. This will allow you to combo them easily.
- Later levels will have the point totals very high. It's important in these levels to make the most of your adrenaline meter, even if you are not in the bonus point zone. In fact, you can use the incredible heights you gain by being struck by cars to "fly" back to the bonus zone. Also, watch out for "bogus bonus zones". Some of these give minimal traffic or even just motorcycles, which are useless for Insurance Fraud.
- For beating Level 3 of The Mills Insurance Fraud activity, you will have your sprint meter doubled. For beating Level 6, you have unlimited sprinting enabled, which is incredibly useful.
- For beating Level 3 of Amberbrook Insurance Fraud activity, you will take 5% less damage when hit by vehicles. For beating Level 6, it will be reduced by 15%.
- Beat all the Insurance Fraud missions to get the "Ambulance Chaser" achievement.
-
Heli Assault
- There are two locations for this: one in Encanto and one in Elysian Fields. They are only available after completing the Three Kings mission.
- You control an attack chopper and must destroy enemy targets below. The first level is always a warm-up; on subsequent levels, you must protect a Homie in a vehicle from gang cars and choppers with your air support. Use the LT to fire heat-seeking missiles and the RT to fire your guns.
- Move the targeting cursor on your screen and track an enemy vehicle with it. When it turns red, your target will stay locked, and any missile you fire will seek it out, even if it is already in mid-flight. The tracking missiles are very important to winning Heli Assault. You have unlimited missiles and bullets, but if the heli takes too much damage, your weapons may break down.
- The enemies will often attempt to kill your Homies, but may at times shoot rockets at you from below, or with their own choppers. Always kill choppers and rocket-weilding enemies first with your own rockets as they can do great damage to both you and any Homies you are protecting. Your Homies have good defense against guns but rockets will tear them apart. Your own missiles can not hurt your Homies, so don't worry about collateral damage.
- At times you may need to actually pick up your Homies with the heli and carry them to a destination. They cannot climb in and must jump on the skiffs. To get them to do so, fly OVER their heads, never lower. They will jump up and grab the skiffs. Do not go too fast or turn too hard or you may shake them off. Homies can usually survive even a huge fall, so search for any that may have fallen immediately. The enemy also stops attacking during these sequences, so take your time collecting your Homies.
- Your reward for beating Level 3 of the Encanto Heli Assault is a 5% reduction in all damage taken from firearms. It is increased to 15% if you beat Level 6.
- Your reward for beating Level 3 of the Elysian Fields Heli Assault is 5% reduction in all prices at weapon shops. It is increased to 15% if you beat Level 6.
- Beat all the Heli Assault missions for the "Heli Good" achievement.
-
Hitman
- These are located in Stilwater Boardwalk, Stilwater Penitentiary, Elysian Fields, Southern Cross, and Harrowgate.
- It works similar to Chop Shop, except your targets are humans. You must get access to the list at each Hitman activity location to start hunting them. To get a hitman target to appear, you usually have to perform some sort of requirement (enter a certain area, wear certain clothing, etc.)
- Note that when a target is in your area, he/she will be represented as a "crosshair" symbol on your map HUD. Track the target down and kill him. If the target dies by any other hand other than yours, you will have to repeat the same steps again to get him to appear.
- Hitman targets will often fight back and can usually absorb a lot of punishment (though a hostage execution will kill them as easily as any other human). They also sometimes come with back-up, or even a rival hitman who will try to steal your prize. Watch also for "decoys"; if your target turns out to be a decoy, the real target should be lurking nearby (use the map HUD).
- Finish any Hitman list to unlock grenades in your crib weapons cache.
- Finish three lists to unlock satchel charges for your crib weapons cache.
- Finish all the lists to unlock unlimited ammo for all your rifles and the "Hello 47" achievement.
- Use the lists below to find your targets (you can also pause the game and look in Info > Activities for the in-game lists). Remember that you have to acquire the in-game lists first before the targets will appear.
- Stilwater Boardwalk
- Jeremiah: Get a motorcycle and drive into the Museum districts and he should appear almost immediately. Make sure he doesn't see you approaching or you might have to give chase.
- Nate: Play some casino games at the Poseidon's Palace Casino in Stilwater Boardwalk until the crosshair symbol shows up on the map HUD. He will be gambling as well.
- Brian: Call 911; he will be one of the paramedics that arrives.
- Randy: Buy a jetski in the marina district (the shop is right near where the Hitman marker is). Then exit the watercraft and run back to the beginning of the pier. Watch out for his date.
- Chris: Enter the By Jove gift shop in Amberbrook and he will spawn outside.
- Nick: In the east wing Heron Hotel (it's located next to the Poseidon's Palace Casino; take the elevator and find his room. Kill his hos before taking him out.

- Larry: Wear a Men's Tank Top from any On The Rag clothing store and search around the Hitman marker in Elysian Fields.
- Seabaugh: Just west of the pier with the Hitman marker in Stilwater Boardwalk is a pirate-themed restaurant on a frigate. Climb aboard via the gangplank; the target should spawn a little ways to the east.
- Mr. Fiegel: Go to Rusty's Needle in Bavogian Plaza and get a tattoo. Then go outside and look around for him (usually either across the street or right in the store). If you've gotten tattoos in this shop already he may already be spawned somewhere in the area.
- Lt. Freeball: Cause enough crimes to get three stars in any neighborhood EXCEPT any in the Saints Row district. He will randomly appear amongst the police in pursing squad cars (look for the cop wearing no pants).
- Russel: Go to the "Phantom Caverns Tour" in Black Bottom. The entrance to the Stilwater Caverns is in the back of the gift shop. Find him wandering around below (watch out for his goons).
- Southern Cross
- Alvan: Head to the center of the abandoned drive-in at Pleasant View (it's across from the barn with the two stunt jumps) and drink two 40oz's (buy them from a gas station). Alvan should appear, but don't execute him. Instead, take "Alvan" hostage and head up the nearby staircase. They lead up to the real Alvan who is positioned in a sniping position on the drive-in sign.
- Brad: Find any tag in the Barrio district and play the Tag mini-game. He will then appear around by the Scratch That music store. If you completed all the tags for the Barrio district he will automatically appear.
- Anoop: Commit a robbery (or set off the alarm) at any store except the ones in the Saints Row district. He will be in the first police squad car to respond.
- Frank: Call 555-455-8008 on your cell phone and kill the cab driver that appears.
- Scott: Call 555-6328 on your cell and kill the delivery boy in the Oring vehicle.
- James: Go to the Techincally Legal strip club in Misty Lane (it's directly east from the Night Club on your map). Use the marker inside to begin the Ho-ing diversion. He will appear afterward. He has back-up and a lot of health.
- Elysian Fields
- Shannon: Use hand-to-hand combat on random citizens in Elysian Fields until he arrives (usually around the coin-op laundromat).
- Jim: Call 555-OOPS while at Stilwater Nuclear. Kill him when he arrives in the waste truck.
- Roje: He will appear around the Scratch That store in Quinbecca if you buy a few tracks there. If you bought them all already, he'll automatically spawn there for the taking.
- Mike: Die at least once while in the Downtown district. He should then start appearing whenever you enter Downtown.
- Clint: Drink 40's repeatedly while inside the building in Frat Row that holds the Demo Derby markers. Seek him out when he appears.
- Greg: Go to any Freckle Bitch on the map (drive-thrus are ok), empty your food/drink inventory, and buy each item on the list. Greg will appear nearby with security guards.
- Stilwater Penitentiary
- Everett: Kill multiple pimps in quick succession anywhere in the Red Light district to get him to appear.
- Justin: Go to the Morning Woods Cemetary at nightime to get him to spawn. He uses a lot of decoys.
- Chris: Get a motorcycle and drive into the Arena or Projects districts and he should appear almost immediately.
- Tim: Call 555-FIRE on your cell and he'll arrive in a fire truck.
- Mitri: Drink multiple 40's underneath any of the freeways in The Mills or Pilsen. He should now spawn in Pilsen whenever you enter it (if not, try drinking under more freeways in The Mills or Pilsen). He has considerable back-up; try sniping him.
- Frank: Get five star-level police notoriety to get the FBI to begin hunting you. He'll be the first amongst the FBI agents to start pursuing you.
-
Chop Shop
- There are several locations for this activity, listed below. The goal is to bring the vehicle desired from their list and drop it off at the chop shop marker. This can be done at any time in the game. It's best that you store every type of vehicle you find in your crib garage as you play, then have Vehicle Delivery bring them to the chop shops.
- Be aware that any car from your crib garage that is brought to the chop shop is removed from your list and lost to the chop shop. This includes modded cars and rare cars!
- You must find each chop shop to begin turning in cars. However, you can deposit the cars on your list at any chop shop (preferably the nearest one). Cops will be a pest for some cars, but if you use Vehicle Delivery, you can make them irrelevant.
- Completing one list unlocks the Mongoose for your crib garage.
- Completing two lists unlocks the Combine for your crib garage.
- Completing all the lists gets you a 75% discount at all mechanics and the "Where's My Car?" achievement.

Stunt Jumps
- There are 80 Stunt Jumps throughout the game. They can be found by driving over a specific jump or gap. Some jumps require that you use a bike. The locations are below.
- Stilwater Penitentiary: From the prison lighthouse crib, drive down the road and follow it to a gap marked by construction signs. Jump it.
- Stilwater Penitentiary: Jump back over the same gap for the previous stunt jump, this time from the other side. You must use a bike to get this stunt jump.
- Stilwater University: The big stone ramp by the series of pool fountains and bridges, in the park area. Use a bike.

The only way to get credit for them is to take them at top speed on a superfast bike, such as a Kenshin, or a bike with nitrous. Start your run from the top of one of the ramps and drive through the garage over the other one.
- Centennial Beach: Both entrances to the Kirkland Hotel parking garage are stunt jump ramps. - New Hennequet: East of the construction house containing a tag, very close by, is a semi-built home with a plywood roof. You must jump off the roof from its east end. The only way up to the roof is to get a superfast bike and give it nitrous. Park the bike in the small gulch with the concrete blocks and spools right next to the home, and use nitrous to launch yourself out and onto the roof of the home. Immediately hand brake to regain control and wait for the nitrous to run out, then hit nitrous again to launch yourself over the roof.

- Wardill Airport: Right south of the previous jump; it's a giant trailer ramp.
- Wardill Airport: Use the trailer ramp lying out in the middle of two terminal gates.
- Wardill Airport: Go straight east from the crib garage marker for the airport crib, around the building in your way. There's another big trailer ramp behind it.
- Wardill Airport: From the previous jump, use the trailer ramp to land on the building ahead, then drive off the tin metal sheet onto the roof of the warehouse ahead. You will need a superbike with nitrous to make the first jump.
- Wardill Airport: From the previous jump, if you follow the warehouse you land on, it terminates into one of those hexagonal ramp-like structures that are scattered throughout the airport. Only this one and four others are stunt jumps; drive over it from the east onto the warehouse roof.
- Wardill Airport: West of the Plane Racing marker is a sewage system; use the piping as a ramp.

- Wardill Airport: West of the previous jump is a junkyard comprised of destroyed jet airliners. Drive a bike through one of the airliner wrecks into a building ahead.
- Wardill Airport: Use the airliner wreck to land on the lower of the two roofs of the building ahead. Then drive off the tin metal sheets.
- Wardill Airport: Use the airliner wreck to land on the higher of the two roofs of the building ahead. Then drive off the tin metal sheet that is facing south. You will need nitrous for both jumps. If you get stuck on the roof with the metal sheet facing north, use a wheelie to throw you and your bike over to the other sheet.

Tags
- You can find specific graffiti throughout the structures in the game to begin the Tag mini-game with. -
Muggings
- You can mug any pedestrian by hold a gun and aiming at the target with Fine Aim on. They will raise their hands in fear and then drop money after seconds of being held at gunpoint. You cannot mug cops and gangs.
- You will unlock the Paintball Mask for mugging 30 people, and for 50 you will unlock the "Stilwater Welcoming Committee" achievement and Jane Valderama as a Homie.
-
Robberies
- Robberies work the same as Muggings, except in this case your target is the cashier at any store. When you aim your guns at the cashier, he/she will lead you to the store's safe. Follow him/her to the safe, keeping your targeting reticule on the cashier, and you eventually be given the money in the safe. If the store does not have a safe, the cashier will simply give you whatever is in the cash register.
- Sometimes the cashier will resist and try to kill you. If that happens, the robbery will not count and you will not get money from it.
- If you make twenty successful robberies in the game, all food and drink items at stores will become free. The easiest way to build up robberies is to go to the Snatch activity in Little Shanghai. There is a tattoo parlor and a jewelery store within a block of each other. Run back and forth between the two stores, robbing them. Use the Snatch marker to clear your police notoriety.
-
Hostages
- If you jack a car with a passenger, you may play the Hostage mini-game. The goal is to drive continuously until the hostage breaks down and pays, earning you money and respect. You will be chased by the police as you do so. The simplest thing is to just drive around in circles within your area; do not stay stopped for too long or the hostage(s) will escape. Also, avoid jacking vehicles with bad acceleration.
- If you successfully complete 10 Hostage mini-games, the Saints variant of the Toad ATV will be unlocked in the crib garages.
-
Combat Tricks
- This can be worked on at time for various unlockables. Note that the following apply only to enemies (such as gangs).
- Gang Kills: Simply kill gang members
- Beat Down Kills: kill an enemy with melee weapons or hand-to-hand combat.
- Headshots: kill an enemy with a headshot
- Gang Vehicle Kills: Blow up a gang vehicle with enemies inside
- Multi Kills: Kill multiple enemies in one shot (such as with an explosion)
- Nutshots: Kill an enemy by shooting him/her in the groin
- One Hit Kills: Kill an enemy within one strike (headshots do not count)
- Slice 'N Dice Kills: Kill an enemy with a bladed weapon (such as a samurai sword)
- Taunting: Provoke an enemy to attack you by facing their direction and pressing left on the D-Pad. Taunts do not count if the enemy is already on the attack, it must provoke the enemy into doing so.
- Throwing: Kill an enemy by throwing them (for this, regular citizens and cops also count)
- Shield Kill: Kill an enemy while holding a hostage.
- Brutality: Kill an enemy with a heavy object while they are lying on the ground (such as a TV, chair, etc.)
- Achieve a star in all of the above to unlock the AR-50 XMAC Special for your crib weapons cache.
- Taunt 50 different gang members for the "Trash Talker" achievement.
- Perform 100 Nutshots for the "Aw Nuts!" achievement.
- Grab 50 human shields for the "Love Thy Neighbor" achievement. The human shields do not have to be gangs, but you can't grab the same person twice, and you must have the gun drawn before disposing of them.
-
Driving Stunts
- This can be worked on at time for various unlockables.
- Bailouts: Dive out of a vehicle or craft while it's in motion.
- Big Air Jumps: Catch a lot of air off of a stunt jump
- Burnouts: Hit the gas while holding down the hand brake in front of any random citizens. Your car will perform a burnout; if this impresses nearby citizens, you will gain credit for this.
- Powersliding: Take a turn while using the hand brake.
- Hydraulics: Equip a car with hydraulics, then bounce around in front of citizens. As long as you catch air with each individual bounce, you will rack up stars.
- Near Misses: Make close dodges with traffic at high speeds
- Oncoming Lane: Drive in a lane or road against oncoming traffic.
- Roadkill: Run over civilians
- Wheelies: Hit the brakes and hold back on the left analog while riding a bike. Your bike should perform a wheelie.
- Stoppies: Hit the brakes and hold forward on the left analog while riding a bike. Your bike should perform a stoppie.
- Two Wheels: Drive a car so that only two of its wheels are touching the ground.
- Windshield Cannon: Collide your car with an object so forcefully you eject yourself (or passenger) through of the windshield.
- Vehicle Surfing: This is actually a mini-game. To start this, jump on top of any vehicle currently occupied by a driver. Whenever the driver takes the vehicle into motion, wait for the prompt to appear and hit Y when it does. The game is to keep your character balanced by using the left analog. If your "balance meter" swings too far left or right you will fall. The longer you stay on, the more stars you get. Pressing Y while surfing lets you perform a handstand that increases your score but it risky.
- If you receive accrue 3 gold stars for 3 driving stunts all in one "instance", i.e. so that you earn Respect for all three at once, you will unlock the Bandit for your crib garage.
- If you win three gold stars in Vehicle Surfing, you will get the Traffic Cone Hat and "Surf's Up" achievement. The easiest way to get three gold stars is to find a slow moving vehicle, like a van or tow truck, and surf it while its traveling down a long stretch of road.
-
Drive-By Diversion
- This can be started by getting in a vehicle and gunning down two or more gang members in quick succession. The prompt to start the diversion occurs; hit it to begin. If you've destroyed all the gangs in the city, you can still play this diversion by either shooting at the pimps of the Red Light district or even fellow Saints Row gang members.
- This diversion can get difficult quickly. You start with unlimited ammo for the pistols and submachine guns. You MUST stay in the car and shoot the gangs from it. You can switch vehicles, but if you keep breaking the rules or shoot
- By Level 4, the gangs start throwing one or two grenades at your car on sight before commencing fire. Make sure you literally drive by them on your first pass so that the grenades miss.
- By the end levels, the gangs start to send fleets of gang members in their vehicles to distract you. Stay focused on the gang members with arrows on their heads, but definitely jack the vehicles if you need to, or use them as cover. Also, the gang members start using rocket launchers; kill these guys asap. Hopefully you will have a car that is fast enough to dodge the rocket, or strong enough to withstand a hit.
- A good car to use is the bank vault car or the Compensator (big consumer pickup truck). These have decent speed and can absorb a lot of punishment, including rocket fire. You can also call Vehicle Delivery for more rides. The best gang to start this diversion on is probably the Brotherhood, whom drive Legions in the higher levels which make excellent vehicles to fight the gangs from.
- There are no unlockables or rewards for beating Drive-By Diversion. There will be only a gold star in your ranking for this diversion if you complete Level 10. However, by playing this diversion you can easily win the Avenger Jacket (getting three gold stars in gang kills). The item is listed as "Men's Leather Biker Jacket" in the Coats section of your crib closet.
-
Base Jumping
- To start this diversion, get in any aircraft, fly it into the sky, and dive out. Press Y in mid-air when prompted to use your parachute. The prompt to start Base Jumping will appear.
- Guide your character in mid-air using the left analog to aim him/her towards the red target area on your map. The closer you are to the center, the higher your ranking.
- In the center of your target area will be a purple car; if you land on the purple car, you will unlock No Falling Damage, which cancels all damage you take from falls. The easiest way to practice at this is to store a heli in the Saints Row Mega Condo, retrieve it, fly it straight up, and base jump. Aim for the purple car below; if you miss, try again.
-
Ho-ing
- There are several markers around the map for this. They are all located in various gas stations, night clubs, and notably in the Technically Legal strip club in Misty Lane. To start the mini-game, just enter the marker.
- Press the right analog along the sides of your controller until the prompt on screen glows and your controller vibrates (if it's vibration is turned on). When it does, keep the right analog in place and TAP, do not press, simply tap the left analog in the direction the arrow prompts tell you to.
- After a while, the game will ask you to find a new "hot spot" with the right analog. Repeat the process until you pass the level. If you win a level, you will begin Ho-ing on a higher level the next time you play.
- If you beat 10 levels of Ho-ing, you will unlock the Pimp Outfit.
-
Ambulance
- To start this mini-game, enter any ambulance and press Y to begin.
- You must drive to each traffic accident scene and revive the dying victims. To do this, exit the ambulance and run over to a victim. Press Y to begin one of two mini-games: A CPR game (move the left and right analogs up and down in rhythm) and Shock Paddle game (move the left and right analogs up and down OPPOSITE EACH OTHER rapidly, then pull both triggers when the meter is full). If a victim dies or the ambulance is destroyed, it's game over.
- You usually do not have to revive all the victims, so return to the vehicle quickly when you reach your quota. Make sure not to accidentally run over victims; the ambulance has poor brakes, so use the handbrake to stop quickly. Also, avoid spooking nearby drivers at all costs or they may run over a victim. The victims become fair game once they are revived, so don't worry about their safety after reviving them.
- If you complete Level 10, you win and will receive the Saints Row Ambulance for your crib garage and the Shock Paddles for your weapons cache. The shock paddles are a terrific melee weapon and can even revive dead humans (simply hit the melee button above any dead body).
-
Fire Truck
- To start this mini-game, enter any fire truck and press Y to begin.
- You must drive to each location on the map and enter the building with the smoke rising from it. Inside are various objects such as furniture, boxes, barrels, etc. that you must put out using your fire extinguisher. You must put out all the burning objects before time runs each round.
- There are people on fire all around the burning buildings. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SAVE THEM. They give no bonuses and exist only to get in your way. Stay away from them and concentrate on putting out fires that are far as away from them as possible. They will eventually die off and stop burning.
- When you are not in range of a burning building, you must be inside the fire truck you began the mission with. If you are not, a countdown will begin and you must return to your fire truck before it reaches zero. Be careful not to accidentally get in the wrong fire truck after leaving a scene; your fire truck is marked on the map HUD.
- The fire extinguisher has limited "ammo". If it runs out, you must return to the fire truck for more ammo. At later levels, running out of ammo and having to return to the fire truck is guaranteed to cost you the game, so make sure to be discriminate and careful when using the fire extinguisher. Try to get multiple targets at once. Some smaller objects like chairs tend to slide about when sprayed with the fire extinguisher; try spraying them from an angle that keeps them against a wall or obstacle so they don't slide around.
- There are two methods you can use to make this diversion a lot easier. One is to wear the Fire Fighter Suit, an outfit unlocked by beating all the Trailblazing missions. Wearing this grants you complete immunity to fire, making the burning victims and fire hazards irrelevant. The other is to mod your fire truck: give it armor, a unique color (so you can spot it easily amongst other fire trucks), and especially nitrous. Nitrous will allow you to zip over to the next scene quickly. Make sure that your sirens are running so that cars will move out of the way while you blast off with nitrous.
- If you beat Level 10 of the Fire Truck diversion, you will unlock the Fireman Suit and the Saints Fire Truck for your crib garage.
-
Taxi
- To start this diversion, enter any taxi and press the Y button when prompted.
- You must drive to each customer located on your map and pick them up in your taxi, then take them to their destination. When they are dropped off, they will pay fare, depending on how pleased they are with your service.
- There is a timer constantly ticking down as you play, which is increased after each successful fare. The game does not end when time runs out, but if you do run out of time, you start to lose your accumlated fare money. If you run out of both money and time, you then lose.
- There are several twists to this mini-game that you will see. They are listed below.
- Reckless Customers: These customers want you to drive recklessly (at top speed, making many near misses, oncoming lane violations, etc.). If you are driving too slow, they will leave the car.
- Softie Customers: These customers want you to drive slowly and carefully. If you hit too many objects, they will leave. They will also leave if you drive too fast for too long, thought that is far less likely than if you crash the car. Ironically, they seem not to care too much if you use nitrous.
- Robbers: These are a trap. If you are stuck with a robber, perform a lot of driving stunts (Near Misses, Oncoming Lanes) and they will bail out. You will not get any fare for these, only a time bonus.
- Rival Taxis: If these appear, you must hurry to the customer before the rival taxi steals him/her, costing you valuable time.
- If you are having trouble, mod your taxi with nitrous, armor, and torque, and play the game in the Red Light district (near your first crib). The fares tend to be simple, often found within a block of their destination (until your fares cause you to leave the district), and with your souped-up cab, you can afford to be reckless.
- If you beat Level 10 of this diversion you will unlock the Saints variant of the taxi for your crib garage.
-
Tow Truck
- To start this diversion, enter any tow truck and press the Y button when prompted.
- You must drive to each location and tow the vehicle back to any mechanic (other than the one in Stilwater Nuclear). To tow a vehicle, place the tow truck's rear against the front or back of the vehicle, then hold LB and RB.
- There is a timer constantly ticking down as you play, which is increased after each vehicle is brought to the mechanic. The game is over if time runs out, if you stay too long out of the tow truck, of if the tow truck is blown up. You cannot repair the tow truck nor switch it out for a different tow truck. The drivers of the vehicle you tow will resist, later on using guns or even getting gangs and cops involved.
- This gets difficult very quickly. If you are having trouble, play this mini-game in Quinbecca (the same mechanic that Carlos had you tow a car two in the mission "Three Kings". The roads are wide open and the cars usually close by and not in difficult locations. Mod the tow truck with armor and torque and capture the vehicle while your tow truck is at a safe distance. If police or gangs are pursuing you, pull over to get them to disembark, then flee. Also, capture the Surburbs in advance to reduce gang dangers and have homies on hand if you need them.
- You can also use homies to drive the vehicle itself, without towing it. This is very handy on the levels where you must tow a vehicle that attracts a lot of gunfire, like an ambulance or the FBI SUV. Call up the maximum amount of homies, then get in the truck while the vehicle is close by. They should get in the vehicle and follow you back in it; note that you will still need to tow the vehicle into the marker to obtain it.
- If you beat Level 10 of this diversion you will unlock the Saints variant of the tow truck for your crib garage.
-
Zombie Uprising
- This is a mini-game you can play at your cribs via television, or at some arcades. The goal is to survive six waves of zombie armies, who are coming down from the nearby stairs. Killed zombies will drop weapons, ammo, grenades, or food to restore your health. It's game over if you run out of health or stray too far from the main arena.
- There are three kinds of zombies: regular zombies that can sometimes break into sprints, giant zombies that can take a lot of punishment and usually require heavy firepower to defeat, and very dangerous (but helpful) flaming zombies that are always sprinting and do big damage if they grab you.
- The key in the first two waves is to grab melee weapons and beat the zombies down, saving your ammo for future waves. Use the stronger guns to kill any giant zombies.
- Around the third or so wave, the flaming zombies appear. These are VERY helpful to winning the mini-game: if they touch any other kind of zombie, the zombie will catch fire and quickly die from the flames. This kills even the giant zombies quickly. You can easily win by running through a crowd of zombies while flaming zombies chase you through them; their allies will get cooked. Just be careful that a flaming zombie does not step on a dropped grenade or it will set it off. Kill any stragglers with headshots or one shotgun blast, so that the zombies do not start spreading out.
- At the six wave, the zombies will finally stop coming as they die off. Kill off your helper flaming zombies, then finish off the stragglers, usually found in the fountain or on the stairs. If you win, you will unlock "Romero's Hero" and the Zombie Mask.
