The SAG Awards are presented annually by the Screen Actors Guild to recognize outstanding performances from its members. The awards recognize individual performances and also entire ensembles of dramatic and comedic television series, as well as the cast of a motion picture.http://www.sagawards.org/node/21
Nominations are selected by two independent panels, each with 2100 SAG members.http://www.sagawards.org/node/21 The committees choose the nominees for each of the SAG Awards categories from film and television for the year. A final ballot is determined by the nominating committee, then all of the members of the Screen Actors Guild, over 100,000, vote to select winners from that ballot.http://www.sagawards.org/node/21 The winners are announced at the ceremony.http://www.sagawards.org/node/21
