SAG Award Winners 2008

  • The 14th Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on January 27, 2008. The show was broadcast on TNT and TBS and aired live from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, California. The film Into the Wild received the most nominations with 4.
  • The Winners in Film

    In the film categories the movie No Country for Old Men proved to be the big winner. The film took home the award for Outstanding performance by a cast and also the Outstanding performance by a male actor in a Supporting Role for Javier Bardem. In the Outstanding performance by a male actor category Daniel Day-Lewis won the award for his performance in the film There Will Be Blood. In the Outstanding Performance by a female actor the award went to Julie Christie for her performance as a woman suffering from the effects of Alzheimer's Disease in the film Away from Her. Rounding out the film categories was Ruby Dee with her win in Outstanding Performance by a female in a Supporting Role, for her performance in the film American Gangster.

  • The Winners in Television

    In the television categories, The Sopranos was the big winner with awards going to James Gandolfini for actor, Edie Falco for Actress and the entire cast was recognized with the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a dramatic Series category. The show 30 Rock won awards for Tina Fey for female actor in a comedy series and Alec Baldwin for Male actor in a comedy series. The Outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series award went to The Office. Kevin Kline won the award for male actor in a television movie or miniseries for his work in As You Like It and Queen Latifah won the female actor award in a television movie or miniseries for her work in the film Life Support.
