Apple introduced Safari 4 at WWDC on Monday, June 8, 2009. According to Apple Senior VP Bertrand Serlet, Safari 4 is almost 8 times faster than Internet Explorer 8. The newest version of the popular web browser is available for download now.http://download.cnet.com/8301-2007_4-10259637-12.html
Statistics released by the web browser, stated that Safari 4 has been downloaded 11 million times in three-days of its release. The new Safari is suppose to be four times as fast as any competing web browser, because of its Nitro JavaScript engine.[1]
New Features
1. Features an updated page rendering engine
2. Retooled JavaScript engine allows for improved performance of newest web apps and standards
3. Crash protection, so that when a plug-in crashes, the browser continues to run
4. Ability to browse your history of viewed web pages in "Cover Flow" mode, meaning you can flip through them in a similar manner to flipping through album artwork in iTunes
