Sacred 2: Fallen Angel serves as a prequel to Sacred and takes place 2,000 years before the events of that game. In the world of Ancaria, T-Energy flows through the world and is the source of all life and magic. The Seraphim are the guardians of T-Energy and they passed on their knowledge to the High Elves in the hopes of bringing prosperity to that race. Inevitably, the High Elves disagreed on how to use their new power and civil war broke out. In the ensuing power struggle, control over T-Energy was lost completely. Entire cities were wiped out, lands became uninhabitable, and the animals and wildlife mutated into irrecognizable horrors.

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is an action RPG with gameplay similar to that of the Diablo series. The game uses a top-down isometric view and players complete various quests to level up their characters and collect loot. There are six different classes and two sides to the conflict: Light or Shadow side. The game world is immense and covers an estimated 22 square miles, and players use mounts to get from place to place. In addition to increasing travel time, mounts also give players increased health points and defense bonuses.SacredWiki: Sacred 2: Mounts
