The Sacramento Kings play in the Pacific Division of the NBA's Western Conference. In the history of the franchise, they have won three championships, two as members of the National Basketball League and the most recent, in 1951 with the NBA.
The franchise was originally founded in 1945, as the Rochester Royals, part of the National Basketball League (NBL). They played one season in the Basketball Association of America, before joining the NBA in 1949. They won their first and only NBA Championship in 1951, while still playing as the Rochester Royals. The team was then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1957, where they remained for 15 years. They moved to Kansas City, in 1972, where they were renamed the Kansas City-Omaha Kings so as not to be confused with the Kansas City Royals MLB team. The team divided its games from 1972 until 1975 between the two cities. In 1975 the Kansas City-Omaha Kings became the Kansas City Kings. The franchise made their most recent move in 1985, settling in Sacramento, California.http://www.tickets-nba-basketball.com/kings/history.htm

Donaghy contended that some of these bias’ were so strong and so blatant that based on who was the ref he was able to determine the outcome of the game with 70% accuracy. Donaghy alleged that beyond these regular season intentional bad calls that the 2002 WCF game 6 had literally been fixed to insure a game 7. He also contended that there was similar activity in the 2005 post season series.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3436401

The letter did not directly apply to the controversial 2002 WCF game 6 between the Kings and the Lakers but only because the statute of limitations had run out ...
