S. Epatha Merkerson is an American award-winning actress, who is the longest running cast member on the hit TV show Law & Order, as Lt. Anita Van Buren.

Lawsuit

TMZ.com reported on December 25, 2008, that Merkerson was being sued by her talent agency, The Gersh Agency, for $222,908.40 because the agency alleges that they had an oral agreement with her.TMZ.com: "Law and Order" Actress Sued -- **Doink Doink** (December 25, 2008) No official word has been released by Merkerson or her rep regarding the story.
