  • In The Battle of Argus, Conquest Mode is the single-player mode of the game. It is, for the most part, identical to the single-player in Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, but has received a number of significance tweaks. The additions include redesigned aesthetics of the game, Tecmo has also added new enemies and redesigned enemy spawn points. Conquest Mode features a different control scheme than the Gladiator mode, which primarily focuses around the motion controls.
  • New Enemies

While Rygar: The Legendary Adventure had 24 enemy types, Rygar The Battle of Argus sports 32. New enemies include a ninjalike foe that can block any attack you send its way, forcing you to wait until it goes on the offensive to counter. Another new enemy is a giant armored knight with a huge sword who can do massive damage. Though they're slow, these foes are extremely powerful and can take, and give out, quite a beating before they fall.1up.com: Rygar The Battle of Argus Preview (September 29, 2008)
  • Controls

Controls are relatively straightforward in Conquest Mode. You select different types of Diskarmor with the D-Pad, jump and block with the Z and C buttons on the Nunchuk, and do heavy and light attacks by pressing A and B on the Wii Remote. At the end of a combo string, you can add some motion control to do a finishing attack. For example, after three attacks, shake the Wii Remote a little bit and Rygar will do a special finisher with his Diskarmor. Unlike in Gladiator Mode, the amount of force you put into the motion commands does not determine how powerful they are.
