Ryan Starr

Ryan Starr is an American singer-songwriter. She came in seventh place on the first season of the hit show American Idol. She later appeared on the reality show The Surreal Life and recorded an exclusive single, "My Religion", for iTunes. Starr is in talks with several interested television channels to pick up her own reality TV show that would chronicle her struggles within the music industry to be a rock star when it's a pop-dominated one. Thus far, MTV, Fuse, Bravo and E have all shown interest. She also made an appearance on the CBS television show CSI.

In June, 2006, Starr visited the Aviva Foundation, which is a home for troubled and abused children in Los Angeles. She spent the day playing with the girls and getting to know them. Her visit to the home attracted media attention, which sparked Starr to speak out, saying something had to be done for these kids. Starr herself has commented in the past about coming from a troubled background and having cut ties with most of her family, but she has never officially confirmed what exactly happened.

Starr is currently designing her own swimsuit line that has a rock feel to it. She signed a two-year contract with Lord & Taylor.
