  • Ryan Malone is an American hockey player with the National Hockey League. He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins and serves as their alternate captain.
  • Career Highlights

    Malone was originally drafted 115th overall in the 1999 NHL Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He did not join the NHL right away, Malone attended and played for St. Cloud State University, starting in 1999. Malone made his NHL debut with the Penguins in 2003, playing in 81 of 82 regular season games his rookie year. Malone played for a variety of teams during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout in Finland, Italy and Switzerland. He returned to the United States for the 2005-06 regular season, playing 77 games and scoring 22 goals and 22 assists. Malone was also name alternate captain of the Penguins under Sidney Crosby in early 2008.
