Ryan Ludwick is a Major League Baseball player. He is currently an outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Early Life
Ryan Andrew Ludwick was born in Satellite Beach, Florida, on July 13, 1978. He attended college at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. In 1999, Ludwick was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft.
Pro Career
In 2002, he was traded to the Texas Rangers with Mario Ramos, Gerald Laird and Jason Hart for Carlos Pena and Mike Venafro. On June 5, 2002, Ludwick made his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers. He was traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2003. In 2005, he signed with the Detroit Tigers and in 2006 joined the St. Louis Cardinals as a free agent. In 2007, Ludwick appeared in 120 games and compiled a .267 batting average with 14 home runs and 52 runs batted in.
