Russell Westbrook is a point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was picked number 4 overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. He played for UCLA from 2006-2008.
Westbrook replaced Derrick Rose in the NBA Skills Challenge during the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend. Rose sat out the skills challenge with a bruised hip.

After making it on to the All-Rookie NBA team in 2008-2009, Westbrook (on Twitter @RussWest44) has continued to post impressive numbers in his sophomore pro season and run circles around the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2009-2010 NBA playoffs. He ranks in the Top Ten NBA players in triple-doubles (#5), assists per 48 minutes (#6), total assists (#6) and assists per game (#7). Unfortunately, he also placed high in total turnovers (#5) and total turnovers per 48 minutes (#6), a byproduct of his active passing game and something that will need to be reigned in down the line.
Westbrook's personal high point as an assist man came on April 4th, 2010, when he notched 16 in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 6-3 187-pound guard with an obviously well-developed full-court vision averaged 8.1 assists per game to go along with game averages of 16.1 points and 4.2 rebounds.
