Russell Swan was a contestant on Survivor Samoa, the 19th season of Survivor. Russell is an environmental lawyer from Glenside, Pennsylvania and has a wife and five-year-old daughter. He was referred to as "Russell S." on the show to avoid confusion with Russell Hantz.http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/bio/russell_s_19/bio.php?season=19
Russell had to leave the game during episode 6 after hitting his head and being seriously injured. Host Jeff Probst described it as "the scariest moment I've ever had on the show."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsMcBvt3SN4

Russell has been reminded--and has reminded us--that while money is definitely nice, his family's love, respect, and support are infinitely better. Congratulations, Russell--you've turned a personal disappointment into a valuable life-affirming lesson. You ARE a true Survivor in the very best sense of the word (and so is your wife!). We're glad we got to "know" you. -
