Political pundit and radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh auctioned off the letter sent to his boss by U.S. Senator Harry Reid condemning Limbaugh's use of the term "phony soldiers" to describe military personnel who oppose the war in Iraq.
The letter was signed by a total of 41 U.S. Senators.
The auction, which was conducted via eBay, ended at 1PM EST on Friday, October 19, 2007 with a final bid of $2,100,100 made by Betty Casey on behalf of the Eugene B. Casey Foundation of which she is a trustee. Limbaugh will match the donation.
The combined proceeds will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation.
