• Rush Hour 2, sequel to 1998's Rush Hour, is a 2001 American action-adventure comedy directed by Brett Ratner.
  • Plot

Continuing where the first film left off, Detective Carter (Chris Tucker) and Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) enjoy their Hong Kong vacation when a bomb explodes in the American Embassy.

Lee learns that gangster Ricky Tan (John Lone), a suspect in his father's death, may have been involved, so he and Carter investigate. The two cops discover Tan's money laundering scam, thanks to undercover Secret Service agent Isabella Molina (Roselyn Sanchez), who remains at Tan's side throughout the case.

The trail takes Lee and Carter to Las Vegas, where they confront and fight Tan and his aide, Hu Li (Zhang Ziyi), at a casino. After solving the case, the two decide to go on another vacation--this time, to New York City.

  • Critical Response

Like the original film, Rush Hour 2 met with mixed reviews from critics, though eager fans of the series helped make it one of the highest-grossing movies of 2001. The film currently has a 51% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
