Early Life

Rupert Murdoch was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia to Australian media magnate Sir Keith Murdoch. After attending Oxford University, Murdoch returned to take over the company from his father who had recently died.
Birth of News Corp.

Murdoch soon began to acquire other newspapers and eventually expanded his operations to England and then finally to the United States. His company, News Corp., is the parent company of dozens of publications as well as FOX and its subsidiary companies.
His son Lachlan stepped down as heir to his empire, and it now appears as though his other son, James Murdoch, has assumed this role.
