English film actor Rupert Grint gained notoriety as Harry Potter's best friend Ron Weasley in the hugely successful film franchise. He won one Satellite Award for Outstanding New Talent and one Young Artist Award for Most Promising Young Newcomer for his role in the series. He has since starred in the hit film Driving Lessons and plans to continue his acting career.

Grint was a die hard fan of the Harry Potter books, and to get his foot in the door he made a videotape of himself rapping about the character he wanted to play, Ronald Weasley. The only acting experience he had at the time were small roles in school plays and local theater.
Swine Flu
In July 2009 Rupert Grint was the first celebrity to contract Swine Flu. He had to take a few days off from filming the seventh Harry Potter film.
