Rupert Everett is a British actor in film, television and theater. Everett was born into a well-off family.http://movies.nytimes.com/person/22333/Rupert-Everett/biography His father, who died in 2009, was an army major. Everett says that his whole life has been a rebellion against his very colonial, very conservative background.http://www.bbc.co.uk/films/2004/06/29/rupert_everett_shrek2_interview.shtml http://www.bbcwhodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com/episode/rupert-everett

He was sent to a boarding school in Basingstoke at the age of seven before being taught by Benedictine monks at Amplesforth College in Yorkshire. He also studied classical piano. When Everett discovered acting at the age of 15, he dropped out of school and ran off to London. Everett has admitted working briefly as a rent boy for drugs when he was studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. His frequent clashes with instructors led him to be expelled from the drama school. He moved to Scotland and became an apprentice at the Citizen's Theatre in Glasgow. http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2009/07/22/michael-jackson-why-it-s-better-that-he-died-says-rupert-everett-as-he-also-dishes-dirt-on-katie-price-and-the-us-115875-21539051/ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000391/bio http://movies.nytimes.com/person/22333/Rupert-Everett/biography

Quotes

"I'd like to be Hugh Grant in that I suppose I'd like to be selling my Andy Warhol for $36m or whatever he sold his for, or buying a Francis Bacon. But in a way that's another great thing about being gay, or at least old-school gay; you don't really need anything. You need a bedsit and a couple of pairs of trousers. That's the Kenneth Williams mentality and that's very good, very nice. Travel light, like a soldier. Until you adopt a family of turkey-basted kids, you don't need any more space."—Rupert Everett in an interview with Emma Brockes from The Guardian in July 2009.http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/jul/17/g2-interview-rupert-everett

”I don’t know, life is so unpredictable. Last year I was on Broadway in Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury. It’s nice to catch up as I haven’t done much in the last 15 years and I like it. But I don’t plot in advance, you don’t know what is going to happen and mostly nothing happens, you sit around doing nothing.”—Rupert Everett in an interview with Andrew Kay in July 2010.
