RuPaul Quotes
"Doing what I do for a living has never been easy. I've had to fight countless battles in this game that the public has no idea ever happened. But, I just pick myself up and carry on, I Carry On."celebrina.com: RuPaul Quotes
"People have always been attracted to drag and the reason they’re attracted to drag is because it represents the duality that lives in each of us. The truth of who we really are is that we are neither male nor female. We humans are spiritual beings having a human experience. We encompass everything. Our lives are a microcosm of the whole universe, so to see someone physicalizing in body that duality is intriguing to us because it’s the essence of who we really are. "

"I do not impersonate women. How many women do you know who march around in 7-inch heels, 3-foot wigs and skin-tight outfits? Women don't wear that, drag queens wear that! The public persona of RuPaul is just a fabulous, eye-popping celebrity package designed to work well in front of the camera."celebrina.com: RuPaul Quotes
"If you don't love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?"celebrina.com: RuPaul Quotes
"1965, I saw The Supremes on the Ed Sullivan TV show. I fell in love with them, particularly, the skinny one in the middle. Renetta says I would prance around the front yard in her pink dress. I don't remember that, but I do remember lip-sinking The Supremes hit song 'Baby Love' by the side of the garage. "
"You are not who you think you are. This is just a temporary package that you’ve put together on this planet and it’s not to be taken seriously. You’re supposed to have fun with it. [Laughs] Now, that knowledge threatens a lot of people who are so invested in their identity as a Christian or a Jew or as a black or as white or male, female, this, that—all those things that we label ourselves, that we define ourselves by. Drag is the antithesis of that. It says you are spirit, you are a spiritual being having a human experience. Don’t take the human experience too seriously. Some people are threatened by that, so it’s dangerous. It’s dangerous because if people accepted that message or really took it in, they would have to deconstruct who they are and a lot of people don’t have the processing tools to do that. A lot of people don’t have the guts to do that."
