Running

  • Running is a common exercise used from children up to adults. It is a great way to burn calories and stay in great shape and optimal health. There are numerous benefits, including potential weight loss, increased muscle mass and bone density, and improved cardiovascular health. Running is also a great way to improve your emotional state; many doctors recommend running to help people with clinical depression or those trying to break an addiction.

Running can also be a competitive sport which includes sprinting (55m, 100m, 200m, 400m), mid-distance runs (800m to 5Ks), and long-distance runs (half-marathons, marathons, ultramarathons). Speed, pacing, and endurance are all factors involved in competitive running.

It is important to wear proper footwear/apparel in addition to warming up (via stretching, jogging, etc.) before running in order to prevent injury.
