• Plot Summary

  Maggie Carpenter (played by Julia Roberts), is an attractive woman who has earned the nickname the "Runaway Bride" by running away from the altar three times in a row. Reporter Ike Graham (Richard Gere), whose career is on the rocks, decides that writing about Maggie's unsuccessful weddings can give him a chance to save his job. Ike begins to fall for Maggie as she plans her fourth wedding, and Maggie has to decide what's stopping her from getting married.
