  • Plot Summary

    The screenplay for Rumor Has It, by Ted Griffin, is based on an actual rumor, that the novel The Graduate by Charles Webb was based on a real Pasadena, California, family with whom the author was acquainted. In the film, writer Sarah Huttinger discovers that the famous book, which inspired a real-life popular film starring Dustin Hoffman, was actually about her own mother and grandmother. Determined to learn more about the man who may be her biological father, Sarah ventures to Silicon Valley to hunt him down.
