Rufus Wainwright has dropped plans to compose, Prima Donna for the Metropolitan Opera over language differences. According to reports on August 27, 2008, Wainwright wanted the opera to be in French, but the Met insisted it be in English. In addition, the opera was scheduled for 2014, while Wainwright wanted to put up the show as soon as possible.
