Major League Baseball relief pitcher Rudy Seanez currently plays for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Seanez was drafted on June 2, 1986 by the Cleveland Indians. After a few seasons with the Indians minor league affiliates, Seanez was called up to make his MLB debut on September 7, 1989.
He played with the Indians through the 1991 season, after which he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 10, 1991. After one year with the Dodgers, he was again traded on November 17, 1992 to the Colorado Rockies. Seanez never played a single game with the Rockies, and was granted free agency the following year.
On July 22, 1993, Seanez signed with the San Diego Padres, where he finished the 1993 season. He again entered free agency after the season. On January 14, 1994, Seanez re-signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he stayed for the next three years.
Seanez signed as a free agent with the New York Mets on January 14, 1997. He was then sent to the Kansas City Royals on January 14, 1997, but didn't play a single game for either the Mets of the Royals during the 1997 season.
He re-signed with the Braves following the 1997 season, and stayed there for the following three years. In 1998, Seanez made his first post season appearance, where the Braves lost the National League Championship Series to the San Diego Padres.
On February 25, 2001 Seanez signed with the San Diego Padres. He was then traded back to the Atlanta Braves on August 31, 2001.
On February 1, 2002, Seanez signed with the Texas Rangers, where he played until May 2003, when he was released and signed with the Boston Red Sox. He continued to bounce between teams over the next few years, playing for the Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, Florida Marlins and again with the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.
On April 1, 2008, Seanez signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Phillies.
