NFL Career
Johnson saw little time in his first two seasons with the Bengals as backup to Corey Dillon. Johnson became a starter in 2003 when Dillon missed most of the season due to injury. Johnson rushed for 957 yards and 9 touchdowns for the year as the Bengals finished with an 8-8 record. With Dillon gone in 2004, Johnson became the main starter, improving to 1,454 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. His numbers earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl. Tatum Bell "Misunderstanding"
On September 3, 2008, after running back Tatum Bell was released from his contract so that the Lions could sign Johnson to their roster, Johnson's luggage went missing from the Lions' dressing room. Bell was captured on tape taking the bags, but claims that the incident was a misunderstanding, as he thought he was retrieving luggage belonging to another former Lions player.
