Early Life
Ruben Bruce Gotay was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, on December 25, 1982. He attended Dr. Santiago Veue Calzada High School. He continued his education at Indian Hills Community College. Pro Career
On August 3, 2004, Gotay made his Major League Baseball debut with the Kansas City Royals. In his first season, Gotay appeared in 44 games and finished the season with a .270 batting average.
