A rubber band gun is a toy gun made for shooting rubber bands. This gun is generally made out of wood. Rubber band guns can range from extravagant machine guns to simple clothes pin pistols.
Types
The smallest and most simple form of rubber band gun is the clothespin pistol. Made from wood, the rubber band is released by opening the clothespin. More intricate models include a repeater pistol, capable of shooting ten or more rubber bands in succession, each time the trigger is pressed. The Gatling rubber band gun can shoot up to 144 rubber bands in succession, using a turning knob and trigger. One of the most intricate rubber band guns is the Disintegrator. Created by Anthony Smith in November 2007, the Disintegrator can be mounted on a tripod and is motorized, firing 288 rubber bands automatically.
