Football Career
Following playing college football for the Texas Longhorns, Williams was drafted seventh overall in the 2004 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. He made his NFL debut that same year, playing five games and recording 232 yards and his first touchdown. Williams saw a stand-out season in 2006, when he totaled 82 receptions for 1,310 total yards and scored seven touchdowns. His performance was rewarded with his first Pro Bowl selection that same year. Williams continued with the Lions for another year-and-a-half, playing in 12 games in 2007 and five games in 2008 before he was traded to the Cowboys.
