  • Fight Career

    For much of Roy Jones' career, he was considered the pound for pound best boxer in the sport. He turned pro in 1989 and did not receive his first loss until 1997 in a controversial disqualification to Montell Griffin. Jones avenged the loss in the following bout with a first round knock out. In 2004, Jones earned his first legitimate loss with a knockout at the hands of Antonio Tarver. Jones loss is next to bouts to Glen Johnson and then a unanimous decision to Tarver in a rematch.
